Malta

We’ve just released Malta CS (Conference Selections) as an open access digital publication. But this year there’s even more to come and we’re really excited about that. This is already the sixth edition of our digital conference series at BESIG, so we felt it was time to take a fresh look at what’s been accomplished over the last six years.

We’re putting together a special edition, which compiles articles from each of the CS editions. This edition will not be a ‘Best of CS’, but more a compilation which reflects developments in business English as they have been presented at our annual conferences in recent years.

We have assembled a selection committee who are reading through all six CS editions to draft an initial compilation. This will be ready in the early summer. The BESIG Editorial Team members are Lynn Nikkanen (Helsinki) and Roy Bicknell (Amsterdam). They will be joined on the committee by: former co-editor Kristen Acquaviva (Berlin); Markus Dietz (Lausanne) who is an editor for ETAS Journal in Switzerland; and BESIG members Maha Hassan (Cairo) and Olena Korol (Kyiv). There is clearly an international feel to the team on this new project, so it will be interesting in the weeks ahead to see what each committee member has selected.

We at BESIG Editorial Team see the CS series as a dynamic, living record of the annual events which are so important to the BESIG community. After the summer we will be reintroducing you to the conference selection series as each volume is made available on the new BESIG website. We will also be looking to release this special edition before our next conference in Iasi, Romania in November.

Enjoy the summer meanwhile and keep your eyes peeled for new updates in September!
